Our Process
Salves all begin with a few simple ingredients. So, let’s say for Comfrey Salve, we take a gallon jar, put in the dried comfrey leaf and fill it up with some kind of oil, like almond oil or olive oil.
Then we put the gallon jar in a big pot (12 or 16 qt.) of water, put it on the oven with the burner on low until the jar is hot to the touch and then let it set a month, preferably longer before we use it. Then we use a tincture press to press the oil of the herb and from there proceed to make the salve, which is basically just adding a few more ingredients.
We usually say making the salves and etc. isn’t that much different than making food in your kitchen, you’re just using different ingredients!

Green Forest Soaps & Salves
I began making soap in 2011 for our own family. What started as a simple project soon became a hobby - the more I researched, the more it grew. Before long, we were selling in a few local stores.
In 2017, our daughter purchased a share of a salve business. By 2019, we bought the rest and merged it with our soaps, creating what is now Green Forest Soaps & Salves.
All of our products are 100% natural. We grow most of our herbs right here on our farm, and we use only doTERRA essential oils.
2024 Updates
From the Esh Family Farm in Paradise, PA
We are currently regenerating our pastures back to grass, grazing dairy cows, and raising chickens. We also work with injured horses, helping them recover and heal. Our herbs and salves are safe for pets and horses.
We are a chemical-free farm, and our neighboring farm is chemical-free as well.
Our salves are made with fresh, live plants, giving you the highest quality, most effective product possible.
